If you’re looking for a family and “fido” friendly place to get a great pizza, then look no further than Boss Pizza Bar, located on Second Street near Marshall Way. In addition to being loaded with enough TV’s to excite any sports enthusiast, the location’s self-proclaimed “best patio” complete with string lights, white-washed picnic tables, and two separate bars is quite the experience. To add some authentic flair to the restaurant, Boss Pizza Bar owner, Tony Alfonso, traveled to Naples to learn how to make the traditional pies from a local master pizzaioli.
The pizza crusts are thin, crispy, and can hold some unusual toppings. There’s a Memphis-style pizza made with pulled pork, for example, and a Mexican pizza made with chorizo, carne asada, and salsa verde. The menu also offers a pizza called “B.L.T. on Steroids,” which sounds more like a stacked sandwich than a pizza. One of the most popular pizzas on the menu is “The Baker.” Made with mashed potatoes, bits of bacon, mozzarella cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions, it’s a one-of-a-kind dish.
Pizza isn’t the only thing they do well. Some other menu highlights are the kale cobb salad, chopped salad, meatballs, a killer cheeseburger, and their soon-to-be famous “Italian Egg Rolls.” This casual and hip spot also has a large selection of craft beers and specialty cocktails for your enjoyment. Boss Pizza Bar is not your average pizza joint, so pop-in and enjoy at 7125 E. 2nd St. in Scottsdale.
