Experience the New Butterfly Wonderland

Last week I decided to take my grandsons out to the latest great attraction in Scottsdale, Butterfly Wonderland.

I am now a lifetime member because I know it is a place we will visit often! It is not only educational, but an ideal place to spend a hot summer afternoon. It has the largest butterfly atrium in the country!

You can also experience a wonderful 3D movie, the Butterfly Emergence Gallery, and The Conservatory — a glass atrium housing …

Enjoy a Classic Steak at The Stockyards

If you are headed in or out of Sky Harbor Airport and are hungry for some beef, you have to stop at Arizona’s original steakhouse, The Stockyards!

It’s on Washington Street, east of 44th Street, built on land that used to be part of the Tovrea stockyards. The Stockyards restaurant opened in 1947 along with the Cowman’s Club, a restored bar built in 1889.

Modern Manor has been around for …

BUT did you realize that with a little creative effort, you can use the trolley system as your starting point to get into Tempe (for FREE) and then Downtown Phoenix? All for the cost of a light rail ticket!

Okay, here’s all you need to know:

English Rose Tea Room

Last week I visited the most charming tea room, in Carefree! Owner Joanne Gemmill was born in Hampshire, England but moved to Arizona years ago. She missed her beloved country and decided to open up the English Rose Tea Room.

It’s open every day from 11:00 to 4:00 and you can either have lunch or enjoy the Duchess of Bedford’s Formal Afternoon Tea. The formal tea is served on a three-tiered cake stand from their finest antique bone china. It includes tea sandwiches, …
