Mass Transit in Scottsdale…Who Knew?!

Just about everyone knows that Scottsdale has a free trolley that will take you all through the Downtown districts. You can hop on and off, shopping at wonderful shops and eating at great restaurants. BUT did you realize that with a little creative effort, you can use the trolley system as your starting point to get into Tempe (for FREE) and then Downtown Phoenix? All for the cost of a light rail ticket!

Okay, here’s all you need to know:

English Rose Tea Room

Last week I visited the most charming tea room, in Carefree! Owner Joanne Gemmill was born in Hampshire, England but moved to Arizona years ago. She missed her beloved country and decided to open up the English Rose Tea Room.

It’s also a great place to meet up with friends or make new ones. John and Ray, the fabulous owners of Karsen’s, have told …

See Topia at the Desert Botanical Garden

I keep telling people that Arizona has the most amazing sunsets! Last week I watched the sky turn from blue to purple, then gold and mauve (that’s pink for you guys).

I enjoyed a spectacular Ballet Arizona performance of Topia at the Desert Botanical Garden, set to music from Beethoven. The outdoor stage is twice as wide as the one at Symphony Hall, and Artistic Director Ib Andersen created this ballet specifically for the …
