Past Meets Present at Arizona Heritage Center

The Arizona Heritage Center at Papago Park is truly a hidden gem. While most may already know about the importance of the 5 C’s: copper, cattle, cotton, citrus, and climate, the museum explores each one in detail. Uncover the history of Arizona through permanent exhibits that tell the story of the early settlers, natives and newcomers, along with the massive transformation Arizona has gone through since WWII.

“The Routes” exhibit explores the history of transportation in Arizona, while the Natural History Gallery features Arizona’s beautiful rocks, minerals, fossils and meteors. Explore two temporary exhibits on the second floor, including one on the V- shaped object sighted in the skies of Phoenix on March 13, 1997, and another featuring Arizona copper and minerals.ArizonaHeritageMuseum_HotelValleyHo_3

From scenic desert walks and trails to special event spaces, the Arizona Heritage Center at Papago Park is well worth the visit whether you’re a local or visiting Scottsdale. Check out the museum at 1300 N. College Avenue in Tempe. It’s open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
