No one knows food better than a chef! That’s why we asked our own Chef de Cuisine Richard Garcia of ZuZu about his favorite spots around town.
Where do you like to go for barbecue?
Rudy’s. They’re based in Albuquerque and have two locations in the Valley (one in Chandler and one in Goodyear). They have the best brisket, I haven’t seen anyone else come close!
Who’s one of your favorite chefs in the Valley right now?
I’d have to say Matt Carter. He has a French influence mixed with a Southwest style. His food is amazing. I love The Mission, and The House is fantastic also. They’re both walking distance from the hotel.
Where do you like to celebrate your birthday?
I like to mix it up, but Bink’s Midtown in Phoenix is a definite favorite. I always enjoy picking a few appetizers and entrees to share with friends.
Any other places we should know about?
Pig & Pickle, just south of Downtown Scottsdale, does a phenomenal job. Their braised pork belly is amazing. I’m trying to eat healthier but was eating there once or twice a week! It’s that good.
