I had a wonderful lunch at Cibo last week! This urban pizzeria (pronounced “Chee-boh”) is in a charming, restored 1913 bungalow in Downtown Phoenix. Hardwood floors, exposed brick, and a leafy patio create a cozy ambiance.
I had the Sicilia, an organic mixed-greens salad with orange slices, goat cheese, toasted almonds, and Grand Marnier dressing. I added the oven-roasted shrimp for a delicious, light summer salad. My friends had the Porcellino, homemade BBQ pulled pork with fontina cheese. All their sandwiches are served on homemade bread that is baked fresh with every order in the wood-burning oven. The portions were large — ideal for sharing or taking home leftovers.
If you stop in for dinner, you can enjoy artisanal pizzas, an extensive wine list, and delicious crepes…all of which I’m going to have to go back to try! Cibo is only a 20-minute drive from Downtown Scottsdale and well worth it.
