Named after Italy’s famed buo grasso cattle and the Piedmont festival where the champion Fat Ox is chosen, Chef Matt Carter’s newest offering is a blend of sleek urban design and cattle country rustic. At Fat Ox on Scottsdale Road near Lincoln, he serves up a modern take on regional Italian classics, with over a dozen pastas made fresh in house daily.
The modern interior is a blend of luxurious leather, rich wood paneling and cool marble. We sampled such outstanding offerings as rigatoni lamb verde, linguine with clams, polenta, Hokkaido scallops, ox-brined jidoro chicken and grilled rib eye with peppers and onions. Top it off with Frangelico tiramisu and meyer lemon tart and you’ve got the perfect meal. Bravo!
