Red Modern Furniture in Midtown Phoenix is known for its one-of-a-kind vintage furnishings. In fact, they have some of the rarest and most high-end pieces in the Valley. They focus on limited-production, well-crafted furniture primarily from the 50s to the 70s.
The store has been in business for over fifteen years. This is where you go if you are looking for a statement piece, by a known designer like Eames, Saarinen, or Noguchi.
Their inventory changes daily, and aside from the store there are three warehouses full of goodies. Red Modern primarily buys from out of state and overseas. Most of the pieces require careful restoration and sometimes have to be completed disassembled and reassembled.
Due to the rarity of the furnishings and extensive time required to restore them, prices at Red Modern are higher than at some stores in Phoenix. Lounge chairs generally start at $4,000, and sofas go for $5,000 and up.
Red Modern Furniture is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and by appointment on Saturday and Sunday. It’s easy to spot the store, housed in a wonderful 1954 Ralph Haver design.
Love, love, love this store! They have more inventory online, but I enjoy going in from time to time and picking out my favorite pieces. Make sure you head upstairs when you go!
