One of my favorite foods is cupcakes – I love sweets! I am happy to report that now I don’t have to go very far to satisfy my sweet tooth. Kelly Garcia has opened her new bakeshop Butter & Me down the street from the hotel. Wildlife Up Close at Bearizona

I recently took a weekend road trip to Williams, Arizona with my family and grandkids. We visited Bearizona wildlife park, 184 miles north of Scottsdale. The park is located on 160 acres in the midst of towering ponderosa pine trees. It is truly a serene experience to be in such a beautiful setting surrounded by majestic wildlife! The weather was sunny and a perfect 70 degrees, offering a respite from the hot temperatures in the Valley.

The Poisoned Pen

If you’re a book fan, you may want to visit The Poisoned Pen, a great shop just down the street from us. Founded in 1989 by Barbara Peters, it’s an independent bookstore that specializes in fiction. It has “current and classic works of mystery, thrillers, historical and literary fiction, and literature of the American Southwest, much of it offered in autographed first editions and imports”.
